You did it all!

Recently I was thinking back to when we first reached out to Choice Dementia Services for help with my sister and her husband - Margaret and Peter. Margaret and Peter were so dedicated to each other and had enjoyed so many years living at home together but then Margaret was taken to hospital with dehydration and her health took a turn. She was unable to return home and we ended up moving her to a facility and that meant Peter and Margaret were separated - devastating for both of them and really the entire family.

You helped us with Peter at home and we so appreciate it! It was difficult for him to be at home without Margaret and your team made it easier.

After Peter had a fall, he also needed to move to a facility and it was then that you helped us ensure that the two of them were placed together. The first time I saw them back together, it made me cry. They were so happy to be back together - they were out singing and taking part in outings. It was so very telling about how we need to keep couples as close as possible.

Then, of course, COVID stopped our visitations for a good while. During that time, Margaret passed and Peter was so despondent. Then he needed his eye surgery and wow, that was intense for a good couple of months!

Throughout it, all Cyn - you and your team were there. You really did it all Cyn!, Without you and Janine - I am not sure what we would have done. We couldn’t have done it better if we lived in their neighbourhood.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
