We Believe in the True Power of Family and Family Caregivers

At Choice Dementia, we know that it is sometimes very difficult for families to always be there for your loved one with Alzheimer’s or a related Dementia, especially if you are living outside of the Lower Mainland, across the country or in another country altogether.

Our mission is to take care of your loved one as if they were our own beloved family member.

One of the best ways we’ve found to support our families and their loved one is through inclusion. We communicate regularly, sharing any stories, concerns, and just generally keeping in touch so that you can continue to be part of your loved ones lives.

An example of this is Grace and her husband Jim, who are in our hearts just as surely as any family member and we in theirs because of Grace’s dad Tom who had Alzheimer’s. We met when we were asked to take care of her dad, because she lived in California and wasn’t able to provide the daily support he needed. We built an incredible relationship with Tom and his family and have even become close friends over the past few years.

This family is just one of the many that we care for and the feelings are the same across the board. Your family is our family!

“The possibility to loose so much is there if we don’t open our hearts to those around us.” - Cyn Dunn
