Dementia, Income Tax and Disability Tax Credit

This may be a month that we all wish we could avoid - INCOME TAX - yikes!

Did you know that someone that has been diagnosed with dementia can apply for the Disability Tax Credit?

It's true...anyone who has been diagnosed with a dementia of any kind, including Alzheimer's, can have their doctor fill out the T2201 form, which is a Disability Tax Credit, allowing up to $10,000.00 in credit.  In my books that is not bad at all, and it can be used by the recipient and their spouse to ensure you can take full advantage.

Check out this guide for more details, but I have identified the most important point you need and highlighted your reason for having this form filled out by the doctor, within the guide itself.

I have also included in a tax SAVING form for those who have Alzheimer’s or a related Dementia.

Once you have filled in the form, you can print off the form and give it to your doctor for completion.
